Back in 2007, before the idea of co-living was coined as such. We had a chance to conserve and design a shophouse with a new 3.5 sty rear addition. The client had two wishes, one to house his large family in the long term and in the short to mid term cater to a young nomadic expat market looking for a quirky stay in Singapore. The spaces were designed to provide chance encounters while at the same time allow residents to choose their interactions with self contained apartments equipped with full service facilities except laundry. Subsequently the client acquired two more units next door which allowed us to continue the co-live roll out plan but only for the most immediate unit, due to planning issues with the last unit.
